MASH is the name given to the really first class restaurant of the Osprey hotel in Naas. It is so far away from the staple hotel food diet of egg mayonnaise and roast turkey & ham that it deserves special attention.
Ask for a window seat, as these are definitely the best, arranged as they are around a semi circular window that overlooks the floodlit fountains and pond in the hotel grounds. At night this is simply magical.
We started with an amuse bouche of a slice of curried chicked tortilla served on a bed of finely diced onion and potato. Very tatsy indeed.
My starter was my favourite dish of this meal - three large juicy scallops served in a shell with a cointreau and garlic cream sauce and piped creamy mashed potatoes. It was so lucious that it would in itself have made a fine main course.
Speaking of which, my main course was the confit of duck leg and breast of barbary duck with poached fig.

Its a very upmarket kind of place (what was I doing there!?!), the food is wonderful and the staff are fantastic.
One of the waiters dropped a glass right near our table, after he had cleaned up and apologised hundreds of times, he then proceeded to take our plates and glasses and replace everything free - because glass may have gone in!
We had finished our meals so settled on a free round of Jamesons!!
Favorite Dish: Mussells -yum yum,
Steak,
Salmon,
Baileys Coffees!
