Favorite thing: The 13th Century Cathedral was closed for maintenace when we visited (Sept 2004), but you can still walk through th grounds and climb the round tower. The round tower is more inspiring for the climb itself than the views of Kilkenny at the summit. A number of round towers can be seen in Ireland but not all of them can be entered and climbed. A number of steep wooden ladders take you up to the top of the 100ft tower.
