Langton's is probably the best known nightclub in Kilkenny. I've been here far too many times and whenever we go out in Kilkenny we always end up in here. On Saturday nights or over the Christmas holidays it gets especially busy. It's run by local man Eamonn Langton who owns many other pubs and nightclubs in the city.

Langtons Bar & Club: Great for meeting people

Great pub for meeting people but also renowned for the food. Gets really crowded in the evening. Huge place inside and nicely decorated with plenty of room to move around if you get there early. They have a DJ most evenings and a big screen for match watching. The food is really tasty and very cheap for the huge helpings they give you. You can also find a nightclub and if you want to be admitted it will cost 13 Euro. The music is mixed and if your thirsty the bar is huge.

Dress Code: Very tendy at night but casual during the day. They have an outside patio upstairs if you smoke.

This night club may derive its name from East African mysticism, but that's about the only culture you'll find in this place. Don't get me wrong, the setting is beautiful - there are 5 seperate areas, with 3 bars, and there's a conservatory and a patio outside. However the proprietor lets way too many people in way too quickly, and so you may find youself longing for space and room to breathe after a very short while. In fact you will. The music is awful, but if you like the usual chart rubbish I suppose you might be content. It's 13euro in, but free on a Thursday night, so thats the only night you could really feel justified going there. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced, so drink before you go in there if possible. Summary: If you're gonna go, go on a Thursday night, and drink before you go in. Even better:don't go at all.

Dress Code: The smart outfit needs to come out.

Langtons Bar & Club: ''Classy'' Night-club

Langtons promotes itself as somewhat of an 'upper class' nightclub, yet one would hardly believe this once inside. The sticky floors and overcrowded dancefloor seem to suggest other wise. These atributes however are common place in nightclubs around Kilkenny, and if you're after mainstream-pop-music-filled frolics, maybe this is the place for you. The age group ranges from 16years old to around 45years, maybe even older, it's so hard to thell these days : ) Come to think of it, there mey be people younger too.As i said, its so difficult to tell!!
During the summer, Thursday nights are free beofre 11pm and these are the only nights i would consider going. I don't think spending 13euro to get in can be justified in any way! Because there's no entrance fee on thursdays, these nights are going to be busy. Admidetly i have had one or two fun nights there, albeit, i probably would have had as much fun if i was in a field drinking with my friends...

Dress Code: It's unlikely you'd get in wearing white runners, although i do recall seeing 'Pop idol' Simon Casey there once with his bright white adidas runners. He probably got in for free too!
Try to look neat and tidy, and you should have no problem.

Really cool and fashionable bar and club on John St. The club is extremely popular, so go early...get ready to queue around 10pm!! (you think I'm joking here? We had to learn the hard way!)

Marble City, Carrigans, etc: Pub Crawling

Ended up in the Marble City Bar for starters, then on to Carrigans, which has got to be the smallest and claustrophobic pub in all of Kilkenny, completely MAD with Kilkenny's Fine Young Things.
