The Pumphouse is a great place to go to watch live music in Kilkenny. Traditional music sessions are held on monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during the summer months. The pub attracts a warm and welcoming crowd, and they serve good bar food too.
After ditching Kyteler's Inn in favor of the Pumphouse - I loved it. Has a Beer Garden upstairs, which is a wonderful thing for us smokers from the USA. Decent clientele. Only down fall was that it was not a late bar on a Friday night and we had to leave early. Oh, and they don't serve my beloved Newcastle Brown, but Smithwick's does just fine.
Good music on the PA.
