Kilkenny City is by no means a place that anyone should be afraid to visit, albeit there are areas where one would not want to walk through late at night. Also there is the ever present chance that some wasted fella will come up to you and ask you for a cigerette late at night, in an attempt to fight you. Obviously avoidable though, just act nice and friendly and walk on.

Since I was there and didn't know when I would ever come back, I had to kiss the Blarney Stone. It's not for everybody. I've heard some pretty nasty stories and I'll let you use your imagination. It's OK to tell your friends back home you did it, but when you tell an Irish person, they'll make fun of you a little bit.
