Foxhunting is and always has been very popular in Limerick county. Very popular with the local gentry and I remember the riders trotting up and down on our road and jumping ditches, tooting their horns looking for a fox. These animals were plentiful in our area and we'd often see them scuttling out of our yard if we were up really early. Mum always found it hard to keep her pet cats away from the foxes and she had a couple of gorgeous cats over the years that got killed by the foxes
    :-(

Limerick hunt club is one of the most successful Hunting clubs in Ireland.
