The good - easy to see Irish dancing and singing without having to go to a pub and wait until 11pm. Ample parking. Extremely talented singer and dancers and musicians. Good view from all tables, as there are two tiers of seating.
The bad - 39 Euro per adult. Entertainment may have been great but the food was not. Limp salad on bread and butter plate with 3 slices of tomato, 2 slices of cucumber, some fancy lettuce, 3 tiny pieces of mozeralla and half a boiled egg. One 20 cm x 7cm loaf of bread for 8 people. Main course was choice of poached salmon or Irish Stew (or quiche for vegetarians). Irish stew was watery and lamb was tough and grizzley. No seconds. Next was a slice of 'homemade' apple pie and dop of whipped cream. Pie was thawed from frozen and definitely NOT home made. Last course was two slices of raisen bread cut into 8 fingers - one for each person. Ample food (nope) and wine was promised. We had two small jugs of red, one small of white , a larger jug of water and one of diet orange cordial. We did get an irish creme when we arrived which was lovely.
Was it worth it? Probably not, but it was a pleasant evening - even if we did leave hungry.

I went to the Bunratty Castle and Folk Park because of the Medieval Knights and it was fabulous.
You could see a battle between the Fitzpatricks and the O'Briens.
There were also a number of special medieval stables.

Probably should be listed under Shannon or County Clare, but since Limerick is the closest big city I'll put it here. Bunratty is a finely restored castle that is completely accessible and also has a great display of rural life in the village immediately behind that castle. Well worth a visit!
The view from the castle turrets of the Shannon River is great. The thatched roofed cottages are full of artifacts from times gone by and I understand that during the summer they have folks dressed in period costume performing many of the tasks that needed to be done back then. You come away with a real feel for life in rural Ireland in times past -or not so long ago as my Mom claims.
The castle puts on a medieval banquet nightly that I have heard mixed reviews of. Many seemed to enjoy the music, food and acts performed. Others thought the folks putting it on were less than enthusiastic.
Also on the grounds is Durty Nellie's a pub famous to locals and tourists alike. My mom went here as a young lass starting her courting days in the early 40's and she was amazed at how much was the same.
