It's over the Thomondbridge off the Ennis road, facing King Johns Castle. Yes its just a big old stone with a chipped corner. But it means a lot to local history & has come to symbolise Limerick in the same way Dublin's symbol is its castle. The treaty stone refers to the Treaty of Limerick signed in 1691 between the Irish/French and English/Dutch forces, signed on the actual stone.
Actually, the reason why the stone is chipped away is that some ppl took some chippings and sold/kept them as souvenirs. Bet theyre probably for sale on E-bay or sthg...
