The Basement Gallery takes its name from its location in Dundalk's Town Hall. It's acutally
sited in an old jail which makes it an interesting exhibition space.
Exhibitions by local and national artists change monthly.

The County Museum in Jocelyn Street, just past St Patrick's Cathedral, is well presented and has won several awards.
The ground floor contains an exhibition outlining Dundalk's industrial past, which was built on the railway, brewing and footwear industries. There's a Heinkel bubble car in foyer. The other floors give a general view of Ireland's past from the stone age onwards. Temporary exhibitions are also staged on the top floor.
Open daily 10am - 5.30pm, Sundays 2pm - 6pm
