'The Achill Head Hotel' is one venue for clubbing. Previously owned by my parents, It's new owners are continuing the fun with dancing every weekend. In peak-seasons, you'll find it open 5 (if not more) nights a week. Doors to the club open at midnight (if I'm not mistaken) but you can 'socialize' in their bar area earlier than that. During holidays times, there is usually live entertainment in the bar, where one can stay if you are not in the dancing mood. Closes between 2am and 2:30am.
Another place to go dancing, is a new bar/club at 'Alice's Harbour Inn.' Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to try the place out myself, but in speaking with friends still over there, It's a hopping place!
The music is good and the atmosphere is great! Though it can get pretty crowded during the 'holiday seasons,' this only serves to increase the fun. It's a great place to meet the locals, drink good ale and spend quality time.
