Smell the Burnt Tyres and Oil - Irish Rallying

There is quite a lot of rallying in Ireland, if you look out for it. The Mayo mountains provide some very good vantage points to watch the thrills and spills and are an excellant test for the drivers and cars.You'll need to check the web or local press for the route and times.Take a flask of coffee as there won't be any burger vans up there ;)

This area seems to be a little off the beaten path. There were rather few tourists when I was there... heard a few Austrian people in Westport, saw a few German cyclists on the roads - that's all. Most of the people seemed to be local (=Ireland and Northern Ireland)
