Getting to Foxford on public transport

by Ruai

If you don’t have your own transport, all buses to and from Ballina pass through Foxford (they’re about 15-20 minutes apart by bus). The bus stops are by the Admiral Brown monument. There is also a train station on the outskirts of town which is the last stop before Ballina on the Dublin-Ballina line.

Car Hire is Reasonable

by SpagBoll

Car Hire was reasonable at Galway Airport . We got a discount for travelling with Aer Arann. Most airlines have similar tie-ins with car hire companys, though do shop around as they are not always the best deal especially during peak season

"Quiet Man" - locations all over Connemara

by globetrott

When driving through the area, you will see plenty of signs about places that had given the scenery for the famous movie !....and there is even a map for all fans of the movie, showing the places and explaining, what scenes have been done at the various places

Getting There

by SpagBoll

We chose Aer Arann into Galway, because I just love propeller planes, but the fare was a good price. Easyjet and Ryanair also have services into Knock
