After you've taken in all of the sites and attractions it might be worth your while, if you're a sports fan, to take in a Gaelic Football game. It is a very interesting and entertaining sport that is native to Ireland. For those of you that have never heard of it or seen it, it is like mixing basketball, soccer, American Football, and rugby all into the same sport. It is one of the more contact sports in the entire world and respect to the players must be given as they wear no protective equipment.
There are a few teams in the area that play throughout the year. Check the local community calendars or ask some of the local residents when and where upcoming games are.
Gaelic Football is a sport that because of its rules and how it is played requires its players to be highly skilled. Therefore, regardless of whether its local club teams playing or a county match-up (Meath's senoir Gaelic Football team, perennially one of the best in Ireland, plays in nearby Navan) you're assured the entertainment.
