about co. sligo

Sligo is the first place I visited in Ireland - mainly because of retracing the footsteps of the great irish writer W.B. Yeats. It's possibly the last place I visited, too, during my last irish trip. It's a great county, with wonderful scenery: green fields, rolling hills, unspoiled coasts and beaches - in other words all the typical irish clichés a great flatmate, derbhla, who often invited me back to her home for the weekend. And derbhla's mum, who always cooked me a yummy bacon and cabbage.

A: For starters, Sligo is definitely NOT a city :) it would be best to rent a car for the day as public transport in the north west of Ireland is not great.
