the thatch: The thatch, Ballysadare: cultural pints
When I was living in Dublin, I used to often go to Sligo.. and when I was there, we always used to go to the Thatch. The official excuse was to do some college work, since it was in this pub that W.B. Yeats got the ispiration to write his poem "down by the Sally Gardens". Needless to say, it was just another excuse to go for a few pints... but it kept our concience clean, since we were pretending to do some actual college work. For the record: we never managed to ever scribble a single line - never mind a term paper as if someone cared... just be clothed pls...
