The Galtee Inn is located in the Square in Cahir and is a great option for good filling food served in a nice pub atmosphere. The food is top quality with great steak and fresh fish as well as hearty Irish homemade soup.
I often stop in here for a bite to eat and have never been dissapointed. It's unpretentious and filling. they serve a great pint here too!!!

If you're looking for something a bit more upmarket than pub grub, you could try Cahir House Hotel which also has a fine restaurant. Haven't eaten here in a while but it has a good reputation in the area. You can have a more formal style meal (Sunday Lunch is popular) or you can have the informal pub grub served in the lounge bar, which is also a tasty and
filling option.

I didnt dine there, just passed by. But if I would chose to eat somewhere in Cahir, I eather chose this one or River House - just for the look of them and guts feeling.

I had a problem finding Cahir from VT but it turned out it can be spelled two ways. Caher or Cahir. I'd say Cahir is more common, because I have never heard of Caher. I had really nice day at Cahir....
