The Local is a busy and atmospheric pub located in the Gratton Square in the centre of Dungarvan. The pub is very popular with locals and is very busy at the weekends and given its narrow breath can be very over crowded but in a good way. The pub usually has live music at the weekends and it is one of the best places in town to hear live traditional Irish music. The owner of the pub is a bohrán player with Danú and he often plays along with the musicians.
Dress Code: Casual clothes are the norm
The Moorings is a popular pub located on the quays of Dungarvan marina. The pub serves good pub grub during the day and at the weekends the pub is very popular with young and older people. There is a fine sized beer garden and smoking area to the rear of the pub and often has a DJ at the weekends.
Dress Code: Casual is the norm
When looking for a nightclub in Dungarvan your choice is fairly limited. there are only two nightclubs in Dungarvan. One on either side of the bridge. Davitt's is on the Dungarvan side of the bridge on Davitt's Quay (just by the marina roundabout.) The nightclub is nothing spectacular but is fine for anyone looking for late drinks or a dance floor!
Dress Code: Dress is casual but sports wear and runners are forbidden
The second nightclub in Dungarvan is Creation which is actually in Abbeyside on the other side of the bridge. The club is fine for a few late drinks and isn't bad for a town nightclub.
Dress Code: Casual but no tracksuits or runners
Downey's is another popular pub on O'Connell Street in Dungravan town centre. The pub has a mainly young crowd but the pub welcomes all visitors. The interior is dark and atymospheric with traditional wooden furniture and low wooden bar with traditional wooden partitions. All this typical Irish pub charm is topped off by an open fire.
The Lady Belle is a busy central pub just off Grattan Square in Dungarvan. The clean and atmospheric pub has a strong maritime theme and the name of the pub refers to a ship 'The Lady Belle' which was a famous Dungarvan ship. The pub has two levels but the upstairs bar only opens on busy weekends. Downstairs there is often traditional Irish music sessions and the bar shows live sport on three TVs. Soup, Sandwiches and Tea and Coffee are available during the day.

Recently me and a few friend visited Dungarvan for a change of scenery. We had a brilliant time in the towns pub's.
However when we came to going into Creation niteclub we were meet with complete ignorance and treated disrespectfully by the night clubs bouncer's.
As we got to the door we were asked for I.D which was not a problem we all had it and were approved to go in untill we were asked which town we where from, we told them were we travelled from. Which they then said "No noone from that town is left in here!" which we were completely shocked by i then told the bouncer that it is discrimination what he was doing he then told me "if you make a complaint against me it will be the last thing i ever do" completely in shock i still took the bouncer's licence number. And am in the middle of making a complaint towards him!
I would advice people from other towns to think twice about going to this discriminating niteclub!

Recently myself and 5 friends decided to go to dungarvan for a change of scenery and we then checked reviews on Creation nite club so decided that was our night- club of choice.
We arrived down to Dungarvan in a taxi which cost €150 return travel. We enjoyed ourselves in the town pubs we then moved on tCreation niteclub where we were stopped for I.D by two bouncers which was fine we all had our I.D's and they where accepted, we were then asked where were we from. We told them which town we were from as we didn't think it would be a problem, we were then told by one bouncer " No no one from that town is coming inside " . Last time i checked this is discrimination and a complete disrespect . I then informed the bouncer that i would be making a complaint that people can not be treated like that he then told "me "if you make a complaint it will be the last thing you ever do".
I can not see how anyone can get away with this.
We were not there to cause trouble and our I.D's were excepted!
I would not recommend this place or be going there again!
