    Emilianos is the brainchild of a local Irish/Italian girl, Lavina, and her husband Emiliano. They met several years ago when they were both working on one of the luxury cruise lines, fell in love, and came back to Waterford giving us this delightful eatery.

    The food is genuinely Italian. Waterford now hosts a number of Italian eateries, and they are each excellent while serving entirely different dishes. All expertly authentic.

    Emilianos has a very authentic Italian atmosphere - tiled floors, brick walls, lots of candlelight, a very rustic look overall.

    You won't come here looking for pizza (although they do have a great range of very tasty ones) - delight instead in the amazing pasta, crunchy bruschetta, and the best of local seafood cooked with an Italian flair.

    Their beef, too, is the best that you will get in any restaurant in Waterford. Succulent. Best eaten very rare. Sometimes they do a main course version of my favourite carpaccio, but they first touch the beef very lightly to a hot pan, browning the outside.

    They also serve the most divine Italian ice cream - you simply must try the lemon!!!

    We hadn't been for a couple of years as the kids were growing up and family meals were very much Chinese and pub grub. However, recently we brought the kids here for a family meal. You'd know Emiliano and Lavina have their own young kids as they have a wonderful attitude to children and a very appealing kids menu.

    The food is every bit as good as it ever was, the atmosphere warm and friendly. I recommend this very highly.

    Favorite Dish: I adore the beef carpaccio. They create the dish at your table. First they bring a plate of freshly sliced beef carpaccio, then they squeeze lemons so that the juice flavours the meat, this is topped with aragula (not sure if I spelled this right) and freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano. Finish with a little truffle oil and freshly ground black pepper. Mmmmm.

    Try also the starter of scallops with coral sauce and baby crab cakes. Totally divine.
