After the tour (which was included in our bus tour so we didn't pay extra for it), we went to the in-house Waterford shop. Afterwards, they told us that they would free engraving if we bought something - which my grandson did. I also paid to have the item shipped home to his family. I felt that I didn't want to have the worry of it breaking during our packing and unpacking. The shipping was more expensive than the ornament.
What to buy: My daughter in law loves cut glass, so my grandson bought her a crystal Christmas tree ornament and had it engraved with their surname and the date. It was a relatively plain flat ornament which I think was for the year (2007) and I don't see anything like it on the website but they do have a several ornaments for $55.00.
