Johnston castle is situated about 6km west of Wexford. You will pass by it, when driving along the main road to the west. You may park your car in the giant castle-park. I did not go inside the castle, but had a nice walk in the park. Johnston castle houses the Irish Agricultural Museum and it has a large park around it. There is an entrance fee for the park.
Wexford is the only county in Ireland that is able to grow strawberries. Why? Well, I'm not really sure, but drive through any other county and if they're selling strawberries they'll say 'Wexford strawberries'. There are heaps of road side stalls selling strawberries, so my advice is to buy yourself a punnet/tub, grab some cream or ice-cream and put your feet up!
This is something you most probably would not expect in Ireland :Palmtrees planted out in the garden to stay there summer and winter. This place is called Kilmore Quai, its situated 7 miles south of Wexford and because of the Golf-stream the climate is mild enough for palmtrees.I saw more palmtrees in the Ring of Kerry - they have a whole garden full of large palmtrees in Parknasilla, in a *****Hotel
