Avoca Things to Do
Avoca itself is the origional home base for the world famous Avoca Handweavers brand.
Avoca brand orioginally started at the local water mill. Origionally it was usaing local wool for blankets etc, but then got expanded by 2 sisters to the well known brand it is today.
Today the conpany is the oldest surviving company in Ireland.♦
In Avoca is the origional mill which is now a museum of sorts, very interesting and well worth a visit.
Also there is a small shop and wonderful tearooms, you have to refresh yourself there, the food is to die for.
The Catholic church at Avoca is delightful. Wellcworth a visit to see the church featured in the TV series Ballykiss Angel.
It is typical of Irish country churches.
The wool mill and gift shop, one of Irelands oldest, has a wide variety of products such as sweaters and hats, and offers a tour, so you can see how wool products are made. There is also a restaurant attached to the gift shop so you can get something to eat.Related to:

I took a bus from dublin on the "wicklow tour". Any of the tour buses that take you around Dublin have brochures for this kind of day excursion. It stopped in some other places on the way and was a nice way to see some of the counrty side.Related to:
