Enniskerry Things to Do
About halfway from Wicklow Town to Dublin, we took a side trip to the country manor of Powerscourt because Joan recognized the name as a Waterford crystal pattern. Once the retreat of royalty, later belonging to the Slazenger family, it has one of Europe’s finest gardens. A good stop not on our original plan.

Poppies Country Cooking is a little cafe right in downtown Enniskerry. We ate lunch here on a quick stop as part of the Wicklow Mountains Tour with Hilltop Treks. The restaurant was recommended by our tour guide, Emily, and we enjoyed our meal. My wife had a chicken panini and I had a Poppies Chicken, a tasty casserole with chicken, rice, cornflakes, and vegetables. We both really enjoyed our meals. We also split a dessert. It was some type of pie with bananas; I can't remember the name but it was really yummy. Service was also good - the girls behind the counter were very friendly. You order food at the counter and then they bring it to your table when its ready. There were a bunch of people on our tour and the restaurant is small, so it was a bit crowded, but they also have outdoor seating. The restaurant is right in front of the village square and clock tower, so it's a very nice spot to eat outside if the weather cooperates.Related to:
