How to get to Glendalough

by globetrott

The easyest way to get to Glendalough is by private car and you may easyly combine it as a fullday-trip in connection with Powerscourt.Glendalough-Bus is a perfect means of transport for all back-packers and they offer a daily connection between Dublin & Bray (where you find the closest train-station) and Glendalough, mostly with at least 2 buses in each direction, in summer there are even 3 buses a day at the weekends. The Terminus of Glendalough-bus in Dublin is at :St. Stephens Green North *NEW*In Bray the bus-terminus is at 'The Town Hall'see the details on a small map here !Click here for the timetable of that bus!Click here for the prices !

Airport

by orlikins

Nearest airport is Dublin. Regular bus & train service from Dublin. As North Wicklow is now considered part of the Dublin commuter belt, the Dublin local surburban rail services the coastal towns of Bray, Greystones and goes as far as Arklow. You could really do with a car to get around Wicklow.

Around Arklow

by orlikins

Arklow's streets are quite narrow, so I recommend that you park the car somewhere and just walk. There is no local bus service in the town.

On the Dublin line

by orlikins

The Dublin suburban rail stretches as far as Arklow. Get the Rosslare bus from Dublin's Store St station.
