Music in the Streets
One of the things we really love about Ireland is that there are musicians everywhere you go. These musicians were the first we encountered on our trip to Ireland. They were playing in a square on Grafton Street near St. Stephen's Green. A small crowd had gathered around them, but some Gardai stepped up to them and they turned off their amps and had to leave. Don't know what that was about. There had been a march a few days before in Dublin where the people were "trying to take back their streets" from the Gardai. If this had anything to do with that, the Gardai clearly had the upper hand. The band quietly put away their instruments and people just walked away and went on with their business.
