Dublin: Sadler's

by Rhondaj

This place was right next to our hotel and had late hours, so it was very convenient to stop here for one last drink, an "outee."Nice seating inside. Dark, rich interior. It's where I discovered Smithdicks and my friend, Carlsberg. And her husband stuck with his Guinness... casual

Molly's Pub: While in Tralee

by Rhondaj

Looking for an open pub on Good Friday, we found Molly's Pub. Live traditional music starting at 9:30, we got there at 9:00 and got a table in this tiny, narrow pub. Good thing, because the people just kept a'comin and by time the musicians arrived (one by one), the place was jam packed. Music was excellent, but the crowd went wild when Sinn Fein leader, Gerry Adams showed up. What a night! casual

Temple Bar: Can you Guinness where we're going?

by kcochran111

Temple Bar is a popular hotspot all day long. It's a "neighborhood", I guess you could call it, filled with shops, bars, and restaurants. Everywhere I went here, from Urban Outfitters to a tasty Mexican restaurant, I received friendly and fast service. Temple Bar is the Dublin epitome of Irish spirit. Casual.

Ahh - the Pubs!

by Bwana_Brown

When in Ireland, one must of course partake of the pub nightlife! We were fortunate to be in Ireland during the Euro 2000 football tournament. It was really great to sit there in the evenings rubbing shoulders with travellers from all over the world while we all traded stories and revelled in the games on the tube! Would England prevail, or that upstart young team from Portugal or could France go all the way?!

Check out the Pubs...of Course! :-)

by chrissyalex

Visit the pubs of course! They are easy enough to find! I visited at least one or two every night while I was in Ireland and always had great time . By the way, I don't even drink beer! LOL I will be posting information regarding specific pubs on the appropriate pages for the towns I visited, but here I will give you a website listing 500 pubs in Ireland. Mostly casual

Hole in the Wall: Another Pub

by kaloz

Pubs are the core of Ireland's night life. Any pub you stumble into will have it's own character. So try a few. Guiness (black beer) takes a long time to draw. It is interesting to watch how they have them in progress, as you want a good head on your beer. If it is too strong for you, you can order a half and half, Guiness and Smithwicks. (We call them black and tans).

Any Pub, Ireland: Mom says, "Guiness is good for you."

by kaloz

Irish pubs are welcome places. Enjoy a pint, and you'll be invited to tell a story since you're new to these parts. Lot's of good crack (fun). Ireland is largely agricultural and the pubs close at a surprisingly early hour, so don't wait till dark, or it'll be last call. Come as you are.

the harbour pub: Inishmore, aran island, co galway

by call_me_rhia

i don't remember the name of this pub, however it's very easy to find, as it basically sits on the pier where the ferry docks. Great pints, great crowds, and - in particular - wonderful traditional music. Having common friend with the owner, I was treated like a queen. thx mate! informal - very informal

Besides Dublin, Galway is the place to be if you like to party! The former sleepy town is now called the Seattle of Europe because of its location (a rainy west coast), its growing economy and the impressive uprise of good night spots - without Starbucks :-). There are too many to mention, just walk around and go wherever you think it's good. The King's Head, Taaffes and the Quays Bar are recommended. The city of Galway is very old and most pubs and clubs located in the old city centre. Because a large part is a pedestrian zone, it gives it a very intimate atmosphere. Stroll around and you're bound to bump into something you like! Go casual, but forget a sporty outfit. The Irish make an effort and so should you.
