I had big expectations for this parade! There were people everywhere, and like all festivals everyone was wearing patriotic colours with big hats, headbands, scarfs, shirts, mascots etc! We found a part where we were right at the front of the barriers, we were there over an hour before the parade was due to start, but it started an hour and a half late!!! And then there were big gaps between a few of the acts. Apart from that it was an amazing parade with acts form all over the world. A few too many American Highschool Bands, even though most of them were fantastic! With dancing sousaphone players and drummers! I loved the huge inflatable owls and dragons! Theyre something ive only ever seen on tele. There were all sorts of mad people too, was quite funny at parts! So overall the parade was great!
St. Patrick Day Parade in Dublin
Traditional parade which is organised every year to celebrate St. Patrick who brought the religion to Ireland and scared away all the snakes.
There is a lot of happy people and hulabaloo going on in the streets and everyone gets drunk in the pubs.
If you're there on 17th of March - Party and wear green ... it's St. Patrick's day!!! Any excuse for a drink!
