Family Friendly Restaurant, reservations are not needed but this is quite a popular place so I would advise booking.

Its hard to say what type of restaurant this is, as there is mixture of everything on the menu. From Steaks, Pasta, Jacket Potatos, Burgers, Fish etc etc. they also have good chldrens menu.

There is something for everyone here even the fussiest of eaters and if you don't want soemthing on your food just ask and they will make it as you wish.

Favorite Dish: Oh my god! I am the fussiest of eaters so pleasing me can be quite difficult!

I always have the super bird which is like half baguette with Grilled Chicken on with Lettuce, cress and topped with Cheese. ( I don't like Cheese so I always ask for it without no problems) and i also get a portion of twister fries too.

According to my sister, The burgers are home made and are the best shes ever had.

Garrison: Sweet Treats!

The Garrison is one of those places where you're not quite sure exactly what it's supposed to be but you know it's always nice!

The menu consists mainly of a varied selection of tapas dishes which are changed regularly so you find you never have the same meal twice. The food is always really nice and is freshly prepared so be ready to wait a little while for your food to be served.

There is an extensive wine list on offer along with a good selection of teas and coffees - something for everyone basically.

The feeling of the place is cosy and welcoming and it is usually quite busy so there is always a buzz of conversation and laughter in the background. If you want to visit during peak hours then it is advisable to book in advance.

Favorite Dish: Do not leave without trying the fudge!! It is homemade and absolutely delicious. Also sample the homemade truffles (not as good as the fudge though!)

Paparazzi: Pizza and Pasta Galore!!

We visited Paparazzi for the first time last Friday evening to celebrate Emma's 9th Birthday with a few of her friends. The restaurant was the perfect choice for the occassion.

We arrived fairly early (7.00pm) so we were seated within 10 mins of arriving which was ideal with six children in tow!! The walls around the restaurant have been signed by many famous people; from motorbike racers to film stars, which is an interesting focal point. The waiters had great fun with the children and really amde a fuss of them which was great. I was even able to smuggle in a Birthday cake which the waiters produced after the meal with a fabulous rendition of "Happy Birthday!". The evening was great fun and an ideal place to take children. I did notice that the other end of the restaurant was mostly made up of couples and small groups of adults so I would imagine that it may be a nice place to go as a "grown-up" group too - although it was quite busy so may not be an ideal choice for an intimate dinner for two.

The menu was quite extensive even if fairly predictable. Then again if you go to an Italian restaurant in the UK then you can pretty much gaurantee you'll be offered pizza and pasta! The pizza's were really tasty - we managed seven large ones between us!! There was a nice time gap between servings and the waiters were wonderful throughout the evening.

The only negative here is the cost. Although not extortionate - it does seem a bit pricey for pizza. Very, very tasty though and it was a special occassion this time so not too bad.

You are unable to book ahead here so ensure you arrive early to guarantee a table.

Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Favorite Dish: Garlic bread with cheese - Yummy!!!!

The Lighthouse (?): A Hidden Gem!!

I'm not 100% certain of the name of this cafe, but it really is fabulous!!

At the very end of Port Erin promenade there is a lighthouse and this is where you will find this small friendly cafe. Most of the seating is outside just off the beach so you can sit and eat while watching the sea - which really is beautiful at this end of the Island.

There is some seating inside but even if the weather is a bit chilly I still prefer to sit outside here.

This is a friendly cafe with customers often chatting amongst each other and generally having a laugh too. The proprieters here are very friendly and welcoming and are quite happy to prepare anything you fancy even if not on the menu - particularly for children.

This is only operates seasonaly though - generally from Easter until Bonfire Night when there is a fantastic fireworks display on the beach!!!
