Teramo Things to Do

Just north of Teramo is the fortress town of Civitella del Tronto. It is on the border of Abruzzo and the Marche (which at one time belonged to the Papal States). It is humongous and well worth the visit. You will be impressed!!

    Madonna delle Grazie

The name of the church is Madonna delle Grazie and it is located a few steps from the town center. The church is interesting in that an exact replica of the Madonna and Child can be found at a RC Church called Saint James (http://saintjames.wordpress.com) located in Penns Grove, New Jersey.

Great food at a great price. You can eat well for about 15 euros. Located in Frondarola on the outskirts of Teramo.

Favorite Dish: Everything was good. They don't really have a menu. Just go hungry and they will feed you well.

Pearched on a hill high above the town of Teramo is the community of Nepezzano. It is so small you won't find it on any map (in fact it is considered part of Teramo) but its people are some of the most wonderful I have ever met.

Come back soon to read more about my time in Nepezzano.

    Valle San Giovanni

Favorite thing: My favorite thing to do is to visit the small towns that surround Teramo, the main town of the province by the same name. Civitella del Tronto is a fortress town slightly to the north of Teramo and is a definitely worth a visit.

Fondest memory: I built a small house on the outskirts of Teramo. It can be seen at:
    http://www.angelfire.com/film/casale

I miss the town of Valle San Giovanni, a small hamet about 8 km to the southwest of Teramo.
