    Bisceglie - The sunset

Sea watching... and sunset watching! Bisceglie is on the south-east side of the country, on the Adriatic Sea, so, if you're used to watch sunsets by the other side, here you can experience a different view! :-)

    The Blue Flag

Every year several associations assign these so called BLUE FLAGS to the best seaside resorts. This award doesn't simply mean that the beach is beautiful and clean, but it also refers to the purification plants, to the rubbish collection, to the pedestrian areas and some more.
Bisceglie was awarded because of the beaches called Scalette and Salsello.
PS: As I wrote in the intro, I will add more pictures soon... :-)

    Typical focaccia from Puglia region

Favorite Dish: This focaccia is a bit like pizza, but a potato is also used to make it softer and bigger. And, believe me, it's absolutely fantastic!

Even if it is known as the "villa", the real name of this place is Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the biggest square in the Bari area. In the XIX century the whole area was dismissed but then it became a nice big square with gardens, trees and busts representing some important persons from Bisceglie. It's a good place to walk and meet other people.

It may happen you get the chance to see these old carts down the streets. They were very popular in the last century, when countrymen of Bisceglie used them as a mean of transport.

    A map of Puglia

Favorite thing: Many of you may not know where's Bisceglie, so I'll try to help you with this map! The region is Puglia, southern Italy, the so called "heel" of the country (due to its shape). Bisceglie is a city by the Adriatic Sea, that's why you can enjoy wonderful sunsets! :-)
