It's both a pizzeria and a restaurant. I got an excellent meal without gluten, with very good advice from the waiter; my husband got a wonderful pizza which I can't eat because I have Celiac.The place is actually a separate pizzeria, and a more elegant looking restaurant, quite big. But we were served very well our different choices.The pizzeria is the last and far-away building at the very long Lungomare di Scilla which was quite deserted before the season, it's probably busier during the day when people go to the sea. So after searching a place to eat for quite a long distance, we were doubly surprised by the excellent quality of the food, and the very nice place. Risotto frutti di mare. It was cooked to perfection and had lots of choice seafood in it. Here you have a nice dish for 3 Euros: pasta y fagioli. The way you have to eat it is shown by the owner Michele: first throw enough hot red chili in the board then dumple bits of bread and ready go ! This is what you get and you will love it !

If you like hot stuff then you must feel in paradise in Calabria. Practically every kind of food contains "peperoncinos" (red hot chili).Try the local sausage speciality "Nduja" which has to contain 20 % (no mistake: twenty!) peperoncino. Pasta arrabbiata is really hot. The "Pepe e Sale" is on a fantastic location in the historic center of Tropea and has super food but only three outside tables.
