A dish I became fond of in Italy is the mussels. Whether done with pasta, or sitting on a plate alone, the mussels seem so right and so fresh in Italy. They make for a wonderful lunch or the first course of a four course meal. A good glass of wine to help wash them down, completes the meal. But you should know that a 'sugar'cone of gelati will cost 4 euros (prices aren't displayed, or nowhere I could see them anyway). Which is substantially more than one would normally pay (even in somewhere like Sorrento).

The restaurant Le Palme is located in the beautiful village of Atrani. Here you can taste delicious Campanian and local food with a very friendly staff.
The rastaurant give you a special atmosphere that it feel like at home.

I can suggest to taste in this fantastic restaurant the following dishes: Scialatelli ai frutti di mare (home made pasta with seafood), Paccheri con scorfano e noci di Sorrento (a big home made macaroni with scorpion fish and walnut of Sorrento. As main dish I can suggest to try the delicious Pesce locale alla griglia con aglio e prezzemolo (grilled local fish with garlic, parsley and olive oil). Very good is Pesce locale all'acqua pazza (local fish to the crazy water: fish boiled in salt water with vegetables, spices and more). Very good are also Gnocchi con gorgonzola e noci (gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese and walnut).
You must ask to the waiter if you want more dishes or the fantastic appetizer like prawn or fish pancake. For the first dish I really enjoyed Risotto alla Pescatora, but you can take as well Spaghetti con Frutti di Mare (both really tasty)
If you have already space for the second dish just go for a fish (delivered every evening by fishermen)

Bar Francese is a coffeehouse on the Piazza del Duomo, with full view on the Cathedral.

I had read about Eolo on VT, so we decided to try it. We weren't expecting it to be quite as formal, but fortunately we were dressed appropriately. The food and the view were amazing. If you have a reservation, you can sit on the terrace overlooking the magnificent view of the Amalfi coast. We didn't have a reservation, but were still able to see with view.
I had a ricotta ravioli, and my companions had risotto scampi and linguini with red snapper; all were delicious and complete with a proud waitstaff who removed the silver dome lids with a "voila" style. Going to this restaurant is truly an exquisite experience. Even if their sign says it is a pizzeria, it is much more!. Owned and operated by a local family - father, mother and 2 sons - the menu changes every week. One of the sons went away to study in one of Italy's best cuisine schools and came back with menus based on the fine local products.
Instead of having a simple year round menu, the chef proposes a different menu every week, composed of different Antipasti, pasta, meats and fish/seafood. They also have a very nice choice of pizzas. Leave a Comment

Very family-oriented place. The people are fabulous! It was a while ago, but what I remember peaches and wine, gorgeous desserts, fish caught that day out of the ocean.
Cartocio - pesce wrapped in parchment paper, cooked to seal the juices in.
Peaches in red wine.

Da Gemma is a very traditional restaurant in Amalfi, located by the main street with a lovely balcony. Although seafood is the high it's not the only choice. You can also have pasta and meat. As usual in Italy, always leave room for desert, you will thank me for this tip.
Ambiance is very cozy and service is good. As you walk in you have, at your left, a full view of the kitchen and if you have to wait for your table you can enjoy viewing the chef at work.
