We didn't eat anything other than pizza here... we mainly stopped in for drinks and limoncello on each visit to Minori (located on the square). The cafe is owned/operated by a German/ Italian family - they were super friendly and always took time to chat with us.

This is not a fancy restaurant by any means, just a family ( the mom is the cook, the son the waiter) run operation. The food is outstanding, not only do they make a great pizza, but they also are a paticceria. Now what drew me to sit down at one of their tables was a plate of bruschetta I saw being brought to a customer, it was beautiful. The bruschetta I ordered was truly the best I've ever had, the bread was baked on the premises, the tomatoes, basil, and oregano were all grown on a plot of land behind the restaurant, and the size of the serving was a meal in its self. Please do yourself a favor when in Amalfi, go see Luigi and order the buschetta.

This is a restaurant at the La Concha Azzurra Hotel which has also Allerè Art Shop with it. We stopped here on our way along the Amalfi Drive. The main thing in favor of this place is the view and location.
Favorite Dish: Here there were no hamburgers for my picky grandson so I ordered Linguine con gli scampli del Tirreno (flat spaghetti with scampi), and Fusilli all'ortolana con provaloa agerolose (home made pasta with vegetables). Both were 16 €
I ate the pasta with vegetables and my grandson ate the spaghetti which had almost no sauce. Neither one of us liked the scampi which were sort of soggy. Again we had the cover charge for the bread 3.50€ (my grandson ate most of it) and a 10% cover charge.

We listened to absolutely rave reviews from a married couple in their 40s who were staying in our hotel, and paid the 30 euro round-trip taxi (the only way to get there). For this reason they said there were very few diners, and indeed we found only two people at a table throughout our meal. The service was attentive but the food nothing out of the ordinary. Unless you are a gourmet specialist who knows what to ask for and likes to chit-chat with the hostess, save your money.

An over-friendly, English-speaking waiter was eager to get us seated, only to ignore us when we wanted to complain about the spaghetti, that came with hardly any sauce. But he did change the dish, added more sauce, which was pale pink, seemingly out of a can.The best sauce is tick and sticks to the spaghetti; this one did not.

Located in a "Palazzo" from the 11th century, La Caravella offers a very tipical ambiance with traditional regional Napoletan Music and an impecable service. The food menu is excelent with traditional napoletan cuisine with a modern view. The wine list is also very good and, as a matter of fact, there are two wine list, one for reds and one for whites, sparkiling and desert. Both organized by country and regions.
Favorite Dish: Try the Sample Menu, for € 120 you will sample 2 appetizers, 2 pasta course, 2 main course and 2 deserts with 4 pairing wines. It's a gastronomic experience that you cann't miss.

Da Gemma is a very traditional restaurant in Amalfi, located by the main street with a lovely balcony. Although seafood is the high it's not the only choice. You can also have pasta and meat. As usual in Italy, always leave room for desert, you will thank me for this tip.
Ambiance is very cozy and service is good. As you walk in you have, at your left, a full view of the kitchen and if you have to wait for your table you can enjoy viewing the chef at work.

There are many restaurants in Amalfi, some small and just right for the quick bite to eat, and others on the fancy side with large seafood menus. Most of the restaurants will feature seafood as this is a hot spot for local fishermen. Of course, everything is freshly caught.
Favorite Dish: A dish I became fond of in Italy is the mussels. Whether done with pasta, or sitting on a plate alone, the mussels seem so right and so fresh in Italy. They make for a wonderful lunch or the first course of a four course meal. A good glass of wine to help wash them down, completes the meal.

Going to this restaurant is truly an exquisite experience. Even if their sign says it is a pizzeria, it is much more!. Owned and operated by a local family - father, mother and 2 sons - the menu changes every week. One of the sons went away to study in one of Italy's best cuisine schools and came back with menus based on the fine local products.
Instead of having a simple year round menu, the chef proposes a different menu every week, composed of different Antipasti, pasta, meats and fish/seafood. They also have a very nice choice of pizzas.
