La savardinia is about 30 minutes walking from the center of Capri. You could be discouraged about this walk, while it is so hot outside. But if you go there, you'll be welcomed by the owner with cold water and you will understand while this place which is far is still living in capri. All italians are eating there, walking in suits or high heels on the small road to taste the incredible food there. The pasta al lemon is amazing and the "mousse au chocolat" is the best one i have ever eaten. There are some really good wines. The tables are outside in a vine, all vegetables are from the garden. Well you can't miss the place if you go to capri.
Favorite Dish: Pasta al lemon because it's not very frequent to find even in italian restaurant and it is hard to cook it well and they do it so good.

This restaurant is in the main square in Anacapri. If you stand facing the designer shops with the chairlift on your right, there is a restaurant on your left. I don't recall seeing any name on it, but it served the best pizza I ate in Italy - and I ate a lot!

We stopped here the second day of our trip for some pizza. The restaurant is the oldest on the island. It is run by the young owners Mia and Franco d'Alessio who produce some of the freshest, tastiest food on Capri. Try the simple pizza bianco with mozzarella and arugula. They also are known for their roasted local fish dishes such as prezzogna with a zesty spinach garnish. Everything here is first-rate.

One of the oldest trattoria in Capri (established in 1872). The waiter at the pool at our B&B suggested that we try this place. I was a little skeptical but pleasantly surprised. It is on a strip with lots of other restaurants. It would not stand out from others on the street.
Favorite Dish: The cuisine includes authentic versions of Caprese favorites, with an emphasis on fish, as well as more modern dishes such as pizzas (margarita and marinara are the best). I had a wonderful chicken dish with lemon. My friends, as you can tell from the picture, had the fish.

Nice Restaurant with big terrace and a marvellous view.
Favorite Dish: One of the most appreciated first courses is Capri style ravioli: a thin sheet of homemade pasta that encloses a caciotta cheese, parmesan and marjoram filling, served in a tomato and fresh basil sauce.
I warmly recommend trying the traditional caprese cake, made from chocolate and almonds.

Favorite Dish: Have a cuppa coffee or a bite to eat here at Capri's famed PIAZZETTA, a charming square with al fresco dining.
Around the area, you can also shop for the necessary souvenirs or pop into some of their branded boutiques, amongst them - the Salvatore Ferragamo boutique. Whatever it is, the prices of Italian-made goods here in Italy (Capri included) is MUCH cheaper compared to any other countries.
So, go ahead and buy your favorite leather bag, shoes or belt!

Capriccio Caprese
Ingredients: Ingredients for 6 persons: 4 ripe tomatoes - 1 lb. 1 1/2 oz. Mozzarella cheese - 2 tsp. finely chopped capers - 6 tbsp. olive oil - salt - 1 tbsp. vinegar - 10 basil leaves.
Real buffalo Mozzarella of course
Cut the tomatoes into fairly thin slices and the Mozzarella cheese into slices that are slightly thinner. Arrange the slices, alternating tomatoes and Mozzarella, on a serving dish. Prepare a sauce by blending oil, salt, vinegar and chopped capers. Pour over the tomatoes and cheese and garnish with basil leaves

RESTAURANTS.
Capri - Faraglioni, Via Camerelle 75, does tasty filetto con patate e peperoni (meat and potatoes). This restaurant is very central.
Anacapri - Il Solitario Via Timpone 1 (closed Mondays) has fantastic pasta which can be eaten in the garden.
Anacapri - Lido del Faro on the seaside promenade has excellent risotto and beautiful views.
