Capri is a beautiful island and it has the must see Blue Grotto, but expect to pay for it while you are here. Capri is a well visited island and things can be quite expensive. The horrible exchange rate of the US dollar to the Euro doesn't help either. But $15 Euros for a souvenir t-shirt, is about $21 us dollars! You will pay to get here $15 euro, for boat rides to grotto $23 euros, to use the toilet $.50 euros, change your clothes to go to the beach $1 euro and to eat gelato and lunch or dinner so bring plenty of euros. The beach that is reserved for people to sun on is fine - just don't go in the water. Ultra-sharp rocks will cut your feet something fierce! on guy we were withgot a nasty infection - there are plenty of other beaces in italy, so skip this one!! Leave a Comment

Take care! by leics A serious point here. I walked to the Arco Naturale, then took a downward path to visit the Grotto Matermania and onward to Capri town. Whilst it was an entirely lovely walk, it did include many, many downward steps. And these were not particularly well-maintained, in many cases being covered with leaves and other debris. A lovely walk indeed, but very treacherous if it had rained (it rained heavily the following day). Perhaps the paths are cleared for the tourist season (I was there in February) but even so, you should be prepared to be cautious. Wearing sensible footwear is an absolute must: heels of any type (or shoes without a decent grip) almost guarantee a twisted ankle or worse. Leave a Comment

Just don't. Ok? by leics The sign in the photo at Capri's Marina Grande makes it very clear (well, as clear as the late afternoon light allowed). Falling in the water is not a good idea. You have been warned! Leave a Comment

Capri - Italy by solopes While you wait for the boat inland, there will be people around you trying to sell you a boat circuit in the island. You better skip it. Upon arrival, real boatmen will approach, offering their boats, cheaper than the previously booked trips, and, more than that, allowing you to know the exact program of the trip. Inland they always sell the blue cave, but later on, in the island, you will be informed that the entrance is only possible in perfect conditions of surf and tide, and if you paid for it... you need luck to enter.
