Ischia Porto Things to Do

  • by paulpuglisi Updated Jun 29, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Heaven on earth, very good therapy. Go to "Poseidon" for absolute luxury, with about 10 thermal pools all at different temperatures with fountains that massage you to a sauna built into the mountain to laying on a sandy beach. (Yes there is some in europe).

Otherwise there is about 40 different thermal pools from Necombo, Eden, Aphrodite etc

small family run trattoria at the ''right-side'' of ischia marina.
picturesque owner and the rest of the stuff. mixed clientele with fair chunk of locals\italians
very tasty bruschettae and hearty but at the same time creative pasta dishes (esp chef's suggestions).
perfectly fresh fish from the golfo
smooth service (but a bit slowish to produce the bill).
great value for money, squarely beats most of its neighbours

Favorite Dish: local specialty - rabbit - preceeded by a phenomenal pasta cooked in the jus of rabbit and spices

Ischia Porto Transportation

Since its a very seasonal island, the taxi drivers will charge double than anywhere else in Italy. Dont be afraid to haggle.

The best thing to do especially in peak season is to hire a vespa. The drivers are quite good on the island.
