Literally, one of those "hole in the wall" places that Naples is chock-full of. Comfortable, clean and efficient, the Cantina seems to attract a mix of tourists (from the nearby Archeological Museum) and locals. Inexpensive and delectable food, very affordable wine. I had a baked eggplant dish that puts to shame every other "Eggplant parmigana" that I've ever tasted.

  • Prezzario - Naples
    Prezzario

This is a classic Neapolitan pizzeria shoehorned into a small space in the Centro Storico. Yes, that is a signed photo of Bill Clinton on the walls: he came here and finished off two whole pizza pies. You might be tempted to imitate him, the crusts are doughy perfection, the sauces and toppings fresh and well-spiced. I ate here twice and was delighted both times - and you certainly can't beat the prices. 3 euros for a Pizza Margherita that is a meal in itself? Bon appetito!

This is a small cafè with a small theatre annexed where from time to time people can assist at cabaret shows.

While wandering Spaccanapoli we stumbled across Pizzeria Brandi and decided to go in. We were surprised at some of the prices of the food but the pizzas and beer were very reasonably priced and excellent! I had the bresaola and rocket pizza. Wonderful!

for the absolute best pizza you will ever eat try this place :
    Antica Pizzeria SRL 'Da Michele'
    Via Cesare Sersal
    1/3 (Angolo Via P Colleta)
    80100 Naples
    Italy

It is a very unpretencious pizza house but by far the best pizza you will ever experience. Get there early to avoid the queue waiting outside with ticket in hand awaiting their turn. There isn't a massive choice of pizza's in fact there are 2 only if i recall. One margarita, ( tomato and basil ) and a marinara which is basically the margarita with cheese. The pizzas are wood fired. simple and superb. Choice of drinks are beer, wine and soft drink. No big long wine list at all. I think we paid around 4 euro for a pizza. Great value.

ask anyone in Naples about Da Michele and they will all know it. It is very famous. Hopefully you get to experience a pizza from one of the oldest, authentic pizza houses in Italy.

  • Amici Miei ** Regulars often pop in for a meal or a chat with the owner after seeing a show at the nearby Teatro Poloteama. The choice of dishes is so varied it's hard to know what to order. A word of advice: accept suggestions!
Neapolitan pizza is the best in the world. Pixxa has long been seen as a symbol of Naples and Neapolitan cuisine. Indeed, there are many Neapolitans who will tell you that life wouldn't be the same without it, and neither would meals with friends the world over. Pizza is a food meant for all the senses, and for all people. But remember, it's often pizzas with the simplest toppings that taste the best.

  • Il Posto Accanto: meaning 'the place next door', in this case, next door to the famous Rosolino restaurant. It's a cosier, less expensive and less formal version of the latter, though the same man owns both restaurants. It's a welcoming place facing out to the sea, with a different menu every day.

  • Trattoria dell'Oca * At lunchtimes, the trattoria is full of regulars who come for the tasty traditional dishes. In the evenings, a more refined selection of Neapolitan and other Mediterranean dishes (which vary according to the season) is on offer. Prices are higher in the evenings, though still quite reasonable. the house speciality , a chocolate souffle, has to be ordered at the start of the meal.

May I suggest the house special! :)

  • We were the first to arrive at this small restaurant (6 tables) and were greeted very cordially by an old guy and an old lady. The menu was written by hand, sometimes a little bit hard to decipher. However, the man was very helpful, read it to us, explained some dishes we did not know (I do not know if he speaks English, we talked only Italian). After having ordered, the lady disappeared into the kitchen and the food we finally got was great, casareccia (homemade)! Highly recommendable!

pasta, insalata, pesce a stella: everything was delicious, especially the fish!

  • I love Gelato in Italy!! So ofcourse, I found this Chocolate gelateria in the corner!! Nice owner who gave me tastes and tastes of different kinds of gelatos. Their Chocolate gelato is so real chocolaty, I cant describe it, but you can taste the cacao in your mouth. Now I have to warn you that you have to be a chocolate lover to come here. Because for some people, it may be a bit too much chocolatey!!! It was heaven for me and my boyfriend. So I got myself two scoops. I had a gelato with a native naples fruit in it. I don't know what it is called because before I could speak to ask what the name is, I was mouthful of gelato!!
