Waiters with black ties serving espresso and rich decadent cakes - this was the cafe which served la creme de la creme of Neapolitan society in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Now you'll see plenty of tourists here, but if you come by in the evening you may also see some of the local cognoscenti. And the coffee is great!

This place is at the heart of Italian espresso bar. One small space, with a check out where one pays for their order to recieve a ticket and then proceedes to the counter to place their order. There a wait of only a few moments and the coffee arrives to be drunk standing up. It's a vibrant environment to be.
Favorite Dish: Short macchiato. Beautiful retro cans of roasted coffee can be also purchased here.

This small pizzeria is located in front of the fountain in Via Medina. It is a two floors restaurant and I suggest you to ask for a table on the upper floor as downstairs there is more "traffic" while people are passing to go upstairs.
We celebrated here our 5th wedding anniversary.
Favorite Dish: Pizza Imperatrice, with mozzarella di bufala, has been one of the best pizza we have tasted during our trip in Naples. And befoore that...while waiting for your pizza...just ask for a cornet of battered and fried vegetables ... simply delicious!!

This is more a fast food than a restaurant. You can eat pizza at everytime during the day and apart from pizza don't expect much: you can only have some french fries.
Favorite Dish: Pizza is good....but let me suggest the classical Pizza Margherita...you will never misspell

Hailed as the best pizza place in the city that made the pizza, Da Michele lives up to its expectation and more. Expect to wait in line to get a seat here in the first place - the locals obviously continue to come here day in and day out. Once you're inside you can choose from two pizzas only (margherita with tomato sauce and the region's special mozzarella or marinara with tomato sauce and garlic) and water or italian beer. Words cannot describe how good the pizza was (I got the margherita) ... you just have to try it for yourself. Wow.
Favorite Dish: The pizza margherita ... though I wish I'd had enough time to sample the pizza marinara as well since I'll bet it's just as heavenly.

After having gotten rid of the rent-car we set out to find a pizzeria. But it wasn't actaully as easy as one could imagine, now , we're in Napoli after all!
How hard can that be?
Depending on the time of day it can! We were unlucky to check with the famous pizzeria Iris (piazza Garibaldi) at 5.30pm for they wouldn't open for another hour...
Favorite Dish: So we went around the piazza clock-wise until we reached the railway station at the corner to corso Novara (for no pizzeria would open before 6.30-7pm) all hungry, almost ready to give up and have something at the station's bar...
But then there it was a misterious little entrance. We decided to try one last time and fortunate enough as we had been all day they told us they would make us our so appreciated pizzas alla napolitana.
With a filled belly we headed to the train and to Rome...

This is one of the most cheap/good place where to eat in napoli. You can choose to come in and sit for a pizza, or to pick up something and go to eat somewhere else in the street.
Last time i spent less than 5 euro for a big beer, a small pizza, a "frittatina di maccheroni", a croquet and a "palla di riso".
hmmm the taste it's so good!
you are not doing a diet right?...not yet at least;)
it is locatd right behind the architecture university, right in the city center....
i really don't know if it have a name;)
Favorite Dish: l'arancino rosso

This is such a very old "fast-food", it means that you go there for a quick lunch or dinner.
Usually u got a long line to come in... but any waiting line will be good... you gonna eat the best pizza of your life here;).
Before to come in don't forget to take you line number to the guy at the entrance (you got to look for him;))
you gonna sit arm by arm with unknown people and that's another nice stuff to meet local people who usually come here to eat pizza.
They only have two kinds of pizza
margherita (with mozzarella and tomatoes)
marinara (with tomatoes and spices)
you gonna spend 5 or 6 euros for a very big and tastefull pizza and a drink (beer, water or cola)
Favorite Dish: PIZZA MARGHERITA

I've been told clinton has been there. But that didnt impress me. What did was the quality of the food served here - absolutely fresh, cooked simply, lighty and yet amazingly complex in flavour and scrumptious! I had several antipasti - "bamboo"clams, pesce crudo (uncooked fish ""cooked"" in lemon juice, herbs and salt) and mozzarella with prosciutto, and a wonderful pasta dish with frutti di mare (all sorts f seafod, plentiful clams, mussels, large pink prawns) in a light tomato sauce. the view offered by our al fresco dining position was just as beautiful the only downside was the bill. this is a medium-pricey restaurant in spite of its cosy, homey look.
Favorite Dish: p.s: im sure i got the name of the restaurant wrong, but it's somewhat similar to what's been typed above, sorry
