For those with the budget and the inclination, there are several antique/junque shops along Spaccanapoli that offer some fascinating relics of history. I enjoyed just window-shopping to see what parts of history were for sale. But you probably don't want to buy anything here unless you have a sound knowledge of Italian and a willingness to haggle.

You'll find fresh fish for sale all over the center of Naples. I was impressed that even the smallest of vendors makes an effort to arrange his wares artistically.
Oh, I'm sure it would be fun to have a kitchen in Naples!

Since it was September, it was already SALDI time so every shopp we went into was either crowded or had nothing else to offer anymore! Oh yes! It's unbeliveable how quickly things are sold out... All the normal sizes are gone in a nick of a time... So you have to try not to get to upset!

Italy is very well known for shopping. Especially when it's SALDI time or discounts. But it is also very well known for it's opened markets where you can find stuff for unbeliveable prices. For example a pair of slippers for 1-2 EUR etc. Even if you can afford yourself much more expencive stuff, do visit one these Mercato's because it's interesting. You would be amazed to see how many "rich" looking women shopp there!
It is wise to have a strong man beside you (look at the picture: my STRONG hubby) to carry all the things you can buy for about 50 EUR... WOW!!!!!!

What to buy: There are times I would kill for that true mozzarella di bufala (buffalo milk cheese). But I have yet to find out, where do they sell the best mozzarella, since until now it was allways presented to me on the table, ready to be eaten alive, and there was huge silence about where it came from and no time to ask. My next trip to Naples is in July and I promise to find out everything. This cheese is not like plastic tasting substitute they are trying to sell to you elsewhere under the name of mozzarella. Its divine, soft, melting, you could eat entire ball by yourself.
What to pay: Pay all you've got.

Naples is shopping heaven. Shoes, bags, clothes, accessories are available in a wide variety of prices and styles, and are generally classy or trendy. Men and women dress beautifully and take great care with their appearance

Like I previously decribed, for good and cheap food and coffee, bargains in clothes and local hangouts, try the market area, for name brand shopping, more in a modern setting take the funicular from this old market and you will arrive to the upper more modern shopping setting in 5 minutes for a cheap price!
What to buy: Anything you can imagine...
What to pay: Not much!

This little shop is in the heart of Naples in Spaccanapoli. Don't ask for addresses, because you couldn't use an address to find it any way. It's just down the street from the Piazza Del Gesu walking towards the Duomo. This street is always crowded with university students and tourists. One of the best parts of the city. My wife's Sociology department is on this street as well.
The shop sells the famous Capodimonte Porcelan for about half of what you'd pay elsewhere. The owners are really friendly.
What to buy: Buy a Capodimonte of Pulcinella for a real souvenier of Napoli. Pulcinella is the mascot of the city, and is characterized by his fun loving, joking manner. He is never serious, and always joking.
What to pay: The Pulcinella cost us only 15 Euro.
The URL listed below is not affilitated with the store, but there as a reference on this fine porcelan.
