Luggage and bags: Take as little as possible...although a small backpack is handy to put some food and water in... You'll be glad you did!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take some light clothes...it is very hot in Pompei even in October... A jacket may come in handy later at night or in the winter months...
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Take lots of sunscreen! You will need it!
Miscellaneous: I wish I'd taken some food for the stray dogs...they were everywhere and were so friendly and lonely...they just wanted a friend... :) I felt so sorry for them...nobody else seemed to care for them...

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Be sure to wear very comfortable shoes while visiting Pompeii. The old stone pathways are very hard and your feet will really feel them after a little while. I also recommend that the shoes be closed-toe, as the old roads are dusty. I wore sandals and my feet were quite dirty after the tour! I rarely wear sneakers, but I really wished I'd worn them to visit Pompeii.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: sturdy comfortable shoes - Pompei has a lot of cobbles and stepping stones
Photo Equipment: loads of film or memory cards
Miscellaneous: Take plenty of water with you and hold onto your water bottle as you can refill from the water fountains which still operate in Pompei.
