Restaurant view at night by ct-bound With no official advertising, only a handwritten whiteboard, only in Italian, we knew we had to try it. Notably, the prices here were even a couple Euros less per dish than everywhere else in Positano. The Restaurant is on a huge patio, overlooking the town and the ocean and the view at night is breathtaking. You can even hear the waves breaking on the beach below while you enjoy your dinner.
My favourite was the pasta Puttanesca. With whole olives and the freshest of ingredients ('Grandpa' who runs the place and does the cooking picked the herbs fresh off the plants while he was making it), it was the best meal I had while in Italy. I also highly recommend the house wine, which I suspect the proprietor makes himself in the basement, since our bottle said 'Blanco', yet it was a red wine. However, it was great! The restaurant has a free van service which picks up its diners in front of the pharmacy in Positano and delivers you high up iinto the town of Monte Pertuso about twenty minutes away. Views from the restaurant are amazing. Our wonderful young host/server Peppino was the owner/chef's son. When he heard we were sent there by an old friend, he literally grabbed the menu's from our hands and proceeded to deliver to us pitchers filled with delicious local red and white wines, his own personally designed menu of huge platters filled with delicious appetizers, then all different samplings of pastas, then a huge platter filled with assorted grilled meats and fish, then a wonderful platter of deserts, then an after dinner appertif. All in all a terrific and highly romantic feast for the senses!
The assortments of pastas, grilled meats and fish were both interestingly prepared and delicious. Caffe Positano by HELEN The restaurant is at the top of the hill overlooking the the beautiful town and the beach. There's seating inside as well as out side, but there's nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal while looking over a gorgeous view of Positano. Caffe Positano was recommended to us by our hotel owner.
The menu has a lot of variety. Prosciutto and Mellon melts in your mouth, and Spaghetti with Clams was very good. Their homemade tiramisu was to die for. They even ran out of it towards the end of the night. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Via Pasitea, 168/170Phone: 39 089875082

by ct-bound Just up the pathway from the main Beach in Positano, there is a 'grocery store' up a set of stairs, where you can buy canned goods, cereal and fruit etc. What most tourists didn't seem to know was that if you went to the back of the store at the deli counter, you could get fresh sandwiches made to go. They will take a whole loaf of fresh crusty bread and stuff it with whatever meat (or whatever) you want, layer it with cheese, then top it with anything from their selection of pickled mushrooms, grilled eggplant, stuffed peppers, olives (with pits, beware!), or whatever you want.
My favourite was the Proscuitto ham (local specialty) with mozzarella (they cut it almost 1/2 inch thick), olives (all types) and sundried tomatoes. Mmmm. It's close to the big Lemon everything store. The store entrance has fruit stands outside and is at the top of a stairway

A menu without prices usually means rouble... This restaurant sits on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean. It's beautiful, but the food is not worth the price. The menu is very minimal and the food is very average. Leave a Comment

by nicolaitan This indoor restaurant on the main street of town offers little exceptional in menu choices over the standard Amalfi Coast cuisine, but the warm and welcoming staff make one feel at home and the care with which the food is prepared and served makes this a step above the average. Much quieter than the beach front places, and certainly more appreciative of your business. Prices are similar to everywhere else. This is one of the restaurants on the boardwalk. Great place to take a break from the sun, sit in the shade on the outside patio and people watch while enjoying some good italian food. Prices are reasonable and the menu has a lot of variety. This restaurant is at the tip top of Positano - higher than you can imagine until you get there, believe me! Montepertuso is the village. Have the hotel call and make reservations for you. They send a bus to come and get you. This may seem like a pain, but it is so worth it to see the view on your way up to the tip top. Bring your camera!!! The restaurant is truly what you imagine if you have not been to Italy before. Family run and operated. Locals go here too. The night I had dinner there, I had been to a small beach/restaurant outiside of Positano and the owners of that establishment were there that night with a huge group of locals having dinner there as well! So, you know if the locals go, it must be good! Or, that is what Rachel Ray always says and she is right!!
I had three or four kinds of pasta. I even took a photo of the plate when it was served. Didnt care how silly I looked either. I knew I wanted to remember it!!! ;-) Fresh, homemade pasta - not barilla! Simple, fresh sauce. The pasta was very light. That is how it is supposed to be. Try this place - you couldnt possibly be let down in any regards! Theme: ItalianComparison: about averageAddress: Montepertuso - tip top of the mountain!Directions: the restaurant has a bus that will come and get you and take you back. It's about a 10-15 ride. NO big deal and the view is worth it!

The dining room at Hotel Palazzo Murat by Erin74 The dining room at Hotel Palazzo Murat is entirely outdoors, surrounded by trees. It is gorgeous! If you're going to have an elegant, special night out while you're in Positano, this is the place to dine. It's expensive, but the atmosphere is so gorgeous, the food so delicious and the service so attentive that the experience is worth every penny.
We had a five course meal that included salad, ravioli, John Dory (whitefish) fillet, gelato, cake, and limoncello. It was all really delicious! Leave a Comment
