Positano's quaint alleyways are full of designer boutiques, filled with colourful clothes - a unique Posiato style. On day I will come back here with all my credit cards :-)) but for now it was window shopping!

When you think of Italy, you can't help but immediately relate it to fabulous shopping and the latest trends. One great thing about staying in Positano is that you DON'T have to worry about "breaking the bank." Positano is known for beaches, boats, and beautiful people.....not necessarily a shopping haven. You have your run o' the mill resort shops all along the steps that lead down to the beach. The usual souvenirs, "Dynasty" - style fashions for the ladies and Bermuda shorts and swimwear for the men. They did have a handful of lovely ceramics that were handmade on-site as well as a few jewels and artwork. Nothing really "stood out" in my opinion, so we were safe in the shopping arena!
If you really want to "lose the Benjamins" then shopping on the Isle of Capri would be your best bet. There you shall have no problem paying 10 Euros for a scotch and soda in the "Piazzetta," and if you're really daring, then dish out 450 Euros for a pair of denim jeans at Cavalli !
For next to nothing, I found more bang for my buck when I saw this precious dog belting out a few octaves at this shop in Amalfi. Where's David Letterman when you need him?

The ceramics in this shop still had the feel of the Amalfi Coast designs but felt unique compared to what we were used to seeing in the other shops in Positano.
What to buy: Pottery. The owner (Lorenzo Murano) will even deliver it to your hotel or ship it for you.

Unlike the typical resort wear that you see all over Positano, this store actually had great women's clothing.
