Bar del Sole: Everyone's favorite hang out!
Perhaps the most famous cafè or in italian "bar" in town. It is always crowded with people from morning to evening.
One can go there for breakfast, snack-time, light lunch, coffe-time, afternoon drinks and aperitivo. I think one has to stay in this place while in Praiano. With keen eyes, you will see how locals interact with each other and just enjoy very cordial local people around you.
I suddenly felt a sense of belongingness the 3 days I hung around in this cafe. Not to mention, you'll have the best sight of Praiano sunset from there.

Cala Paradies: Fine menus!
A family-run restaurant located between Hotel Onda Verde and the Sarceno Tower. The owner is Erica with her son Rafael. They are very nice people. It is a glassed-walled resto at the cliffs of Praiano bay not far from Marina di Praia. While dining, you'll have a fantastic sights from the mountain side and the Mediterranean Sea. The foods were superb. My husband and I loved this place!
****Please check it's availability. Our last visit was on 2002 and lately we heard some news from the owner's friends that they might quit their business ....
Il San Gennaro Trattoria - Pizzeria: Great Southern Italian dining
The Trattoria San Gennaro has been in business from some decades now run by the family of Salvatore. Thus, you have him as your maitre d', his daughter the waitress while his parents are in-charge of the kitchen.
Ambience of the place is local with traditional Amalfina paintings and decors, cozy and very familiar. Food is great and the serve huge portions for each plate which often is good for 2 persons.
At the end of your meal, the house usually offers complimentaty sorbetto al limone.
Favorite Dish: Their antipasto di mare is a signature. Try it as it is very good. For your fist plate try their "scialatieli allo scoglio" and "grigliata di pesce" for second plate. Don't forget to compliment it with a bottle of their local wine and torta di nonna for dessert.

La Brace: Tastes of Paradise!!!!!!
This place was right next to our hotel, so the first night we arrived we chose not to walk much (we were so hungry...!!) so we went next door to LA BRACE!!! What an experience! If you really want to taste South Italy's cuisine, visit LaBrace! The dishes are all very delicious, the service is absolutely perfect! Since Praiano and Costiera Amalfitana are places to taste really fresh sea food, in La Brace you will find QUALITY seafood, spaghetti with frutta di mare, pasta with fresh shrimps and many more. Also ask for fresh pasta with melanzana, rucola and parmiggiano, and definitely try the Raviolli con spinache and ricotta!!!!Miam miam...You can also have some very interesting pizzas....
The restaurant is very "hommy", with a nice view, very reasonable prices (you can have quality food and service at a VERY reasonable cost). Don't forget to check out the buffet of fresh homemade pastries and sweets ( try the lemoncream profiterol and the pasta frolla!!!)
Favorite Dish: You will have to ask my friend about the Raviolli!!!!!!!A taste of Gods!!!
Trattoria “da Armandino”: Unique place in Marina di Praia
Great trattoria hanging under the cliffs in Marina di Praiano, there are others with a better view or with tables that were decorated more fancy, but this is where the Italians went to eat and the food was delicious.
Il padrone Armandino always had some great daily specials which he offered us, and sometimes it was a bit difficult to convince him that "today we wanted try something from the menue". We lost most of these discussions, but never regretted it.
Favorite Dish: Fish, Caprese
