Pizzeria Aurora   Sorrento

Pizzeria Aurora, Sorrento

5 Reviews  The service was most "bored" we saw in Sorrento. Was it because being there out of the season? On the other hnd, wouldn´t it make you more helpful, if it´s no "too much" people dining? Anyway: Pizza...

L' Antica Trattoria Ristorante Pizzaria: Best Pasta on Amalfi Coast

by deecat

Thanks to Nat (b1bob) I now have the address and telephone number of this wonderful restaurant. In the heart of old Sorrento, we came across the sign and checked out the menu posted on the wall. The picture shows that. It had a wide assortment of pizzas, pastas, fish, chicken, and assorted salads. So, we gave it a try. It was one of the best decisions we made in Sorrento. It's a rather large place, rustic, upscale yet casual: fresh flowers on the tables and subtle lighting; several rooms to choose from and a rather large menu. The waiters spoke English, were efficient, friendly, humorous, and helpful. We liked it so much, we had our picture taken inside and out! We really wanted to remember this place. The Ravioli Mamma Rosa was superior. The Seafood special was fresh and delicate tasting. Fried vegetables were not greasy, rather light in taste. The Bianco (white) house wine was especially...

Ristorante Frate Cosimo: Best food, in the hills of Sorrento Peninsula

by rubbersoul75

Perhaps the best all around meal we’ve had in Italy, we’ve had many as we live here. It may have been the circumstances: driving all day from Veneto, through Napoli traffic, finally finding our B&B (just up the street, see lodging tip), and in need of some food. We talked with Mario, who runs the restaurant, and had spent some time in NY and wanted to practice his English with us. He suggested what he might bring us, and this was one of those rare occasions where we didn’t ask prices. Over the next couple hours, from what I can remember, we received about 6 different courses: antipasto of cheese, prosciutto, some seafood, pastas – a melon ravioli, and linguini with truffle (see 2nd photo), followed by a few...

A large menu with really good food and a lively ambience if you eat after 7pm. The prices are really good for what you get.
