Trianon: Try pizza in the old fisherman's market

by blusky Updated Dec 13, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Space is huge and even if you're in a big company they will probably have a place for you.
The pizza is quite big so believe me, it will be enough.
In the summer they have the tables also outside so you can enjoy life on the piazza.

Favorite Dish: Simple Margherita or pizza Lasagna.

La Cantina delle Cipolle: A different, but friendly place

by metteks Written Jul 4, 2005

Mads is very thrilled to start the antipasti

This place is part of the cooperative ”A Sud di nessun nord”. The friendly staff serves very inexpensive traditional vegetarian meals and beers labeled fair-trade.

We arrived at 7.30 pm hungry from a days traveling. The kitchen wasn’t quite ready, but they offered to make us some antipasti. This dish was really nice, because this way we got to sample some of the different dishes. We wanted to have a beer, but we were told that the beers in bottles were all fair-trade and were very exotic, like banana-beer etc. We didn’t think that would go well with our food so we opted for draft beer instead. Maybe the do well as a dessert?
While we waited for our food we found backgammon in the bookshelves. Here they also had some books and other games. I don’t know if the books were for reading in the restaurant or for exchanging.
Our main course was also simple and very good.

All the time we were there friends of the waitresses came by, and at one time our waitress even walked around with a little visiting baby on her arm.
On the wall hang many posters for eco-friendly and fair-trade products for sale from the same cooperative. There were also private notices from people needing places to live and so on.

All in all, we felt very welcome and at home in this place and we didn’t feel like we had been eating in yet another impersonal restaurant.

    Quattro Passi: Campagnia Cuisine

    by iris2002 Written Jan 28, 2004

    oh look ... it moved!

During the summer months one absolutely must eat at one of the beautifully set tables on the shady terrace, a terrace stylishly furnished with light coloured woods, wicker, and majolica.
The cellar is a delight to behold with its 15 thousand bottles, some of which extremely rare, with a wine list which offers a selection of 1200 labels.

And I mastered to go through a few bottles of those labels hihi.

    Favorite Dish: My favourite wine:
    Brunello di Montalcino (before 1999)
    Montepulciano D'Abbruzzi (ideally 1996)

    Food:
    ‘il crudo di pesce’
Nassa scampi on a bed of artichokes, Lobster salad with wild flowers.

Everything else is rather deliciouse too - especially the deserts!!!!

Osteria del Brigante: Tiny, hidden and pleasant traditional place

Long wood tables where you will be sitting beside formerly unknown guests. A tiny black-and-white TV broadcasting all time along.

Favorite Dish: Sangiovannara: a dish made of pasta, eggplants, tomato, olives and... some other ingredients. Pasta e lenticchie (lentils). Local red wine: fruity, tasty and strong.

Antica Pizzera del Vicolo della Neve: In Salerno, don't miss the hidden gem!!!

by lichinga Updated Jan 24, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    In Salerno, don't miss "La
Taverna" del "Vicolo della Neve". A great traditional
small restaurant, always overcrowded with local people. They will serve only
traditional dishes, depending upon the season. The best thing to do is to sit
and wait to be served. The price is really honest.

    Madisons Pizzeria in Nocera Inferiore
The owner si a very charasmatic individual and will sit down adn chat with you offerign advice abotu local attractions and making sure that you have as nice a time as possible in southern Italy. The restaurant has a garden, with a pond with real gold fish swimming around happily, the restaurant was both clean and friendly and the service was good in the traditional Italian style. The price was also very pleasing for a pizza it is about £2.00 and a beer £2.20 very cheap, wine of course is also very reasonable.

Favorite Dish: The pizza disgratazizata is to die for ti si a secret recipe sauce, but it has you wanting to come backfro more and more please...
