This lovely restaurant is set in gardens with fruit trees as cover, The fruit on the trees look like Very large Lemons but are in fact a cross between a Lemon and an Orange. The food is Excellent and it is not to expensive, average dish being about 6 Euro. It is well worth a visit Either in the afternoon while it is quieter with the sun shining through the Trees or at night were it looks much more Romantic with lights hanging in the trees and music to serenade you. Definitely a must at least once during your holiday.
Didn't eat there enough times to try them all but they all look Fantastic

The Foreigners' Club is certainly not a place to meet the locals. However, it does have one of Sorrento's most spectacular views. It has a large terrace, perfect for having drinks whilst watching the sunset. If only the food was half as good as the view... by Jetgirly Gelateria Davide creates gelatos that absolutely must be tasted, using fresh local ingredients. Two highlights include Profumi di Sorrento with a blend of local citrus fruits (what a zing!) and the rich, creamy taste of mixed nuts in Noci di Sorrento. There are also old Italian favorites like Stracciatella ("vanilla" with chocolate pieces) and Gianduja (chocolate and hazelnut). Make sure you've seen the choices on the other side of the cash register before you make a decision! Leave a Comment Theme: Ice CreamAddress: Via Giuliani, 35Directions: Beside L'Antica Trattoria

Arrow Indicating Pizzeria Aurora by Jetgirly Pizzeria Aurora is centrally located in Piazza Tasso, and serves fifty varieties of award-winning pizzas! I had a vegetarian pizza with tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and mozzarella cheese. It was definitely worth of an award! The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, with longer opening times than others in the area. Don't buy an overpriced dessert- grab some gelato at the nearby Gelateria Davide instead. Beautiful location and sea views! The food was delicious, the portions are huge and the service was welcoming and friendly. This restaurant was recommended by the Rick Steves' Italy guide, since I had the book with me, they gave us a free small glass of limoncello.
They get their seafood right off the fishermen's boats at Marina Grande...as fresh as it gets! Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Marina GrandePhone: 081-878-2038

Situated in Piazza Tasso opposite Fauno Bar this is a lovely looking Kiosk type bar that sells everything from drinks, ice creams (in cones or dishes) to meals. It's a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Cheaper than the other bars around the square and with a much more friendly and traditional atmosphere. The local snacks are fantastic. Bottle beer 3.50 Euro Pizza margherita 3.50 Euro If you don,t want to sit down you can just purchase snaks and drinks to eat while walking around as many people do.

Arrow Indicating Fauno Bar by Jetgirly I had a quick aperitivo (pre-dinner drink with Campari) at Fauno Bar in Piazza Tasso. I always order uno aperitivo della casa, non troppo amaro , which is a house cocktail that is not too bitter. Service was quick and friendly, and my EUR 5 cocktail came with nuts and olives to snack on. There is great people-watching here, and convenient smoking and non-smoking sections. Try to sit as close to the street as possible, and leave a little tip for your server! Nowhere else in Italy can you get front-row seats and decent drinks for these prices! I think they also serve food here, particularly at lunch, but I'm not totally sure. See website below for phone number. Leave a Comment

The Entrace to L'Antica Trattoria by Jetgirly I really enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone visiting Sorrento (except for people on extremely tight budgets). I visited for dinner at 8.00 pm and had the choice of a set menu or ordering a la carte. I chose the EUR 30 set vegetarian menu. Here is what I was served (remember, all this for EUR 30!): 1. Homemade bread with olives or almonds, and prosecco to drink 2. "Artfully arranged" julienned vegetables in a delicate sweet-and-sour sauce 3. Insalata caprese (tomatoes, mozzarella and basil) 4. Ricotta ravioli (probably in a sundried tomato oil) 5. Local, tagliatelle-like pasta in broccoli sauce 6. Grilled vegetables 7. Cake made from regional lemons (from a selection) 8. Lemon profiteroles Add a glass of white wine and water, and my total bill came to EUR 40. They seemed quite keen on giving out little extras (not all of the things above were actually listed on the menu), so be nice to them! The menu clearly stated that the cost of the menu included cover charge AND service, so I didn't leave a tip. The food was all excellent; it tasted very fresh and homemade, and used local ingredients as much as possible. Service was warm, cheery and friendly... they were very kind to me despite my knowing nothing about eating in fancy restaurants! My only complaint would be the timing, in that there was practically no time for digestion between courses but it took more than forty minutes for my bill to arrive after I asked for it. I saw some children there at lunchtime, so I think they are used to catering to diverse crowds. There is indoor and outdoor seating, the inside is mazelike while the terrace is more like a garden. The restaurant's website shows their menus (both set and a la carte), and also features some recipes invented in their kitchens (in Italian only). Leave a Comment

Caruso's is at the edge of the old town of Sorrento, just adjacent to the stairs that lead down to the waterfront. The cozy restaurant is very elegant and dinner there is a long affair. Our visit was toasting our last night of a wonderful week in Sorrento so we celebrated with a nice bottle of prosecco. The food was fabulous. The service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was very special.
My primi of crab ravioli was extraordinary. The home made ravioli were melt in the mouth delicious and one of those dishes I will never forget! Photos and memorabilia of the famous tenor adorn the walls. Situated in the historical centre of Sorrento this bar at first glance appears to be just a normal bar. they have live music every night from about 21:00 the cocktails are relatively cheap and the atmosphere is friendly. It's a nice place to sit in the afternoon and have a drink. The real lure of this restaurant/bar is in the cellar. In the early 1990's they decided to expand the bar downwards by digging a cellar and found that the bar had been built on the Dolio of an old Roman Villa dating from the II - IV century AD. and probably used to store grain. These excavations have been made into a feature in the cellar and everybody is welcome to go down and see them (there are even a couple of tables down there so you can stay and have a drink) a main Roman wall supports the bar and you can look down through glass to see the foundations and various pottery finds.
