Cava has a wonderful arcaded main street that somewhat reminded me of Bern, Switzerland. There are tons of nice shops under the cover of massive arcades. I don't know if there are tons of things to see in Cava, but it is very calm, relaxed, and peaceful, you will enjoy it if you are all traveled out and just need a day or two of relaxation.
Cava is a very nice little town that has excellent shopping and is the best place to people watch while walking around town. You can see all of the families dressed up, going to church, you can witness the bread bakers cooking bread and delivering it to the local markets and homes, and you can see the jewler fixing watches in his tiny shop right on main street.

In Cava, it seemed to me that many things being sold locally were made or produced locally, like the fruit/veggies, wine, and bread items. You will see all types of shops along the rode, either baking bread in huge open ovens, or people cleaning tons of fruit and veggies and then loading them up on bikes and delivering them to merchants. A stop by the local market will yield all the food you'll need in Cava.
You'll be part of medieval life style. Lots of friendly people, mediaeval food, music, custums. It's really worth a visit.
In general, Cava di Tirreni is a very laid back town that you should come to if you are feeling a little overworked and tired, or if Salerno or Positano is full of tourists. You can rest assured, they aren't in Cava!
Fondest memory: Sitting in my empty hostel room watching a worker pick grapes in a distant vineyard up high on a mountains that surround Cava.
