    The 4 km long pilgramage path towards the church. it is taken along the corridor, the entire path long... I was astonished by the idea and appearance.

    Be sure to daytrip to Parma, Modena, Faenza, Ravenna and Ferrara. If I had to pick one, it would probably be Ferrara. Rent a bike and join everyone else. You can rent them just outside the train station for about ten bucks. The castle in Ferrara is a must see, as is the 'oldest medieval street'.

    The small country of San Marino can be visited in a day trip from Bologna as we did. A train trip (1hr 20m) to Rimini (about 20 euro), and a 35m bus trip from the station (8 euro) and will find yourself on Mount Titano and wandering the streets of this pretty town. There are museums (Weapons, Torture, Art), Galleries and the three large towers of the Citadel itself.

    Plenty of tourist shops selling all kinds of things, cafes restaurants etc provide more than enough so see and do. Get an early train there and a late train back and we only saw half of it. And on a clear day... the views are incredible....

    There are some parks in Bologna, "Giardini Margherita" near "Porta Santo Stefano", you take the bus 13 in "Via Rizzoli".
    "Parco dei Cedri" near San Lazzaro, bus 19 in "Via Rizzoli".. "Montagnola"... 200m closer train station and "piazza Galliera...
