After an afternoons wander around Modena we figured it was time to relax for a while with an aperitif. We stopped at Caffetteria Drogheria Giusti because it had a lovely outside terrace area and there was a spare table that looked just perfect for us.

Caffetteria Drogheria Giusti is a fabulous place to stop for a drink and a snack, or a light meal. It is located next to a church and close to the Palazzo Ducale. The main seating area is outside, though there is room inside for the colder days.

Dress Code: We both ordered a glass of white wine and sat back very happily, particularly as they also bought us out a table-full of complimentary bar snacks! Who needs dinner we thought (well, we did later on!).

A glass of wine was 5 euro.

There is not a lot of nightlife in Modena itself. If you are on foot a good place to go is Club 37. The atmosphere is very friendly and the crowd is youg. You can get cheap food and drink and it is open till around 12.

If you are looking to go clubbing and you are on foot then you could go to Snoopys if only for a laugh. It is quite sleazy but harmless and there is always a free buffet. The music is chart dance and it is always packed.

One of the best places to go on a night out needs to take the car and it is called Vox - any concerts are usually held there and the music is split between three rooms so there is something for everyone.
Club 37 is one of the only places in Modena that is open late in the evening!

Snoopy's - check out the Snoopy lights in the stairs!

Vox - the thing that was unique for me was seeing the amount of people trying to get in - there are no queues in Modena - it was like a herd of cattle all trying to squeeze into the barn!

Dress Code: Club 37 - Relaxed

Snoopy - Smart/casual - don't wear trainers

Vox - anything goes but it is full of rich young Modenese people so there is a lot of black worn!!

American bar (an approximate name - can't remember the full one)
It's - unique! In the literal sense! The only place I could find in the whole town of 170,000 after dark! I've never seen anything like this before. Hearing that the community of Modena doesn't know how to spend all its tax money - well, my proposal's obvious!
