Mambo caffe with MATILDA dj's: Mambo caffe

by vysnaite Updated Apr 4, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There's one day when they do a dance night with Matilda dj's . 2003 summer dancind night in Mambo was Thursday. For 2004 you'll have to check. crowded, crowded, crowded, but fun. Open- air with bars and other fun stuff. on other calm evenings Mambo Caffe is one of my fav to come to sit at the bar and to chat, not on weekends it's also nice to eat there, would eat normal food, but pizza is great there. Barmans at the during the disco also great at their work

    Ghinea: Great Live Music Pub

    by vj_nija Written Oct 24, 2006

Very live, very loud, very interesting, crowded live-music pub/pizzeria/enotheca. As my friend told me, the owner is beer lover, so you can taste high quality beer from arroung the world... and to have great time listening to live music. The evening we went there was dedicated to the QUEEN and some group called "Magic Queen" made some professional noise there playing the greatest hits of the BIG LEGEND. It was fun:) And the beer was very delicious. But the place was crowded - it looked like locals rally love to spend times here.
By the way, the pub has almost three rooms, bu no space to dance...

Dress Code: No special requiremens - regular leisure clothing fits.

    Eating & Drinking: Fellini

by vysnaite Written Oct 18, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Ok...it's a place "da fighetti", which means well dressed people and teenagers that dress up quite well and "trendy" to show off. thus, you shouldn't be scared of this. it's a completely local, but very popular place at any season for weekend aperitive or just a drink in the heart of a center. Good cocktails. nice athmosphere. many locals and students.

Dress Code: whatever, there's no security that checks your dress code. many people dress up really well, but in reality - nobody cares. Party all year looooong, guys! They are also connected to Hemingway discoe night club in marina di ravenna.

Summer It is nice to take a...

by vysnaite Updated Aug 25, 2005

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Summer It is nice to take a walk in Ravenna center any evening, but if you really want to get into the groove then go on Friday night, when in summer every Friday night there is a mercato (market) in the center, all the shops in the center are open and walk till late, all cafes open, oceans of people, sometimes cinema in piazza del popolo, also the programme Ravenna mosaics at night if you want. After that get into the center. The hard thing on this night could be to find a place for parking, but after that it is really great atmosphere and it really seems strange that the city center that is quite silent in day time, or in other evenings is so calm turns into such a full, lively and wonderful place. Friday night in the city center is something really worth experiencing.

Another option on other days is to go to all the localities around at the seaside, from Marina di Ravenna to Milano Marittima or any other and choose the bagno, disco or party that suits your taste. There are many wonderful places for nightlife, all the seaside points turn lively, there is tuff competitions, mass of events, live music, festas on the beach, discos, you name it, they have it!

    BBKing: Best open-air beach Disco

by vysnaite Updated Nov 10, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Disco on the beach. Not only my favourite but also the longest working disco in Marina (till 4 am), usually on Thursday and Saturday eve , right time to show up ~ 10 pm. entrance is free, place very crowded. A great place to loose you head in dances and to leave your bad energy and to upload a good one. If you love dancing and fuss like me, then it's a place for you.

Dress Code: as you wish, but better be a little bit in fashion, no ball dresses :) but as usual in the evening when going out. can be from simple and comfortable but good lucking to smth super-duper- fashionable. Athmosphere is quite relaxed in this aspects, jeans and smth will do too.

    BocaBarranca: Live Jazz-Blues

by vysnaite Written Nov 10, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A great place for live Jazz/Blues music listening and different from night working beach localities at the sea this one is really close to it. Place to relax and enjoy. in other nights full of quite young people. But I love it.

They also do ethnic dinners (cuisine of different countries). Look for all the programmes at their website.

Dress Code: Sometimes a little bit fancy "to show off and to look at others" but as you wish.

    Zanzibar: Zanzibar

by vysnaite Written Nov 10, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Great place. from jazz to usual dances based on afro-ethno and house. For me deffinately one of the tops, but everyone has their own taste in music. As usual, open bars right next to it and seas of ppl on the dance eves.

P.S. in the day time it's a normal beach establishment with beach volley and tennis and so on. as most of the others listed here.

    Dress Code: As you wish.

In and around: Nightlife in summer

by vysnaite Written Nov 10, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Ravenna as a city itself at night is calm, all the fuss and crazy fun is going on at the seaside which is about 15-20 minutes aways. there you can choose any nightlife activity depending on your taste - disoces or theme parties on the beach, from house to live jazz concerts.

Dress Code: Depends where you are going, if only at the beach parties dress code is quite a simple one I should say.. the way you go out at the evening for having fun. it better you'd wear comfortable shoes (that doesn't mean not nice ones), but the naked truth is beach is sandy, so ... :)

I won't list all the places here, too many of them. I'll list some of my favourites. When there try to find small journal "coolissimo" which costs nothing, but collects info of the parties in different places around. a good idea during the day to take a walk as many parties are being anounced right at the place. Anyway, you won't miss anything touring the beach establishments at night and choosing the right for you.

There are several pubs in Ravenna and Faenza where people go, especially on weekends nights.
There is one disco in Ravenna, the "Kubrick", open on Weekend nights in winter.
During summer, the excitement of the nightlife is all on the beach towns, where clubs and bars are open every night, sometimes until late (4 a.m.). By car or by taxi, the closest places are Marina di Ravenna and Marina Romea. Their beach areas are less developed and there's more open space, and the few pubs and disco directly on the beach are becoming a favorite spot for the young local crowd.
