We're all being told to stop and smell the roses. But seldom has a slow amble around an ancient city been so richly rewarded as it was the day I happened to catch sight of some chimneys in Ravenna, immediately next to the Tomb of Galla Placida. Since Ravenna was an ancient Roman seaport, one can well imagine that its residents might have seen the Acropolis. But who knew they'd memorialize it in such a lovely way?

Quite nice for an evening hanging out with shops, caffes, bars, people right by the canal full of ships at the city center. The Port Canal was designed by Leonardo da Vinci , in the canal along which you take a walk there's also a Floating Marine museum so you can see interesting gaily-painted vintage boats too, also at night as they are illuminated.

Mirabilandia is a huge amusement park with many attractions in Ravenna, from the city center it's about 15 minutes by car, there are also buses going there and back. it's a very fun place to spend all the day, to remember childhood and to have loads of emotions. Attractions are not only for kids, inside the park there are many restaurants, canteens, so you can have a snack, in the evening a show is organized and the fountain plays with colours. Usually there's a promotion in summer, when you pay entrance for one day, next day you can enter 4 free. Believe me, one day is not enough, you can be there from the morning till the evening and you'll never get bored.
you pay entrance once, you can use all the attractions and amusements inside the park as many times as you wish!
another park like this you can find only in the North of Italy (Gardaland)

If you like bird watching there's one cute old wooden watching tower close to Marina Romea (at the road SS309) at San Vitale Pine woods. You can see quite a number of birds in artificial ponds, and if you love nature you'll really enjoy.
There are a lot of birdwatching spots in Valli di Comacchio Comacchio Lagoons(http://www.vallidicomacchio.it/esc3.htm). A palce has many canals, like a small Venice just in nature. It's in the Delta Po Natural Park teritory. You can take a virutal ture and know more at http://www.parcodeltapo.it/

Another seaside place with wild night life. 15-20 minutes by car, with many bars in a center, many rich funcky people, the most famous discoe there is Pinetta. Though, a pleasure walk with some lurking in bars is strongly adviced. You'll see at least a few ferrari and porches on the streets (nice view, guys!!!).

the tratoria cubana in marina de ravenna. All the way at the end of the strip. Order fresh sea food (caught that day on the shore) dishes by the ounce, then eat them sitting outside with some good local pinot grigio wine served in small pitchers. Cheap, local and excellent.
